GENERAL PRESENTATION OF THE DEPARMENT

    The Management – Marketing Department was created as a request of high education development in the old Petroleum – Gas Institute and as a consequence of its reorganisation requested by the new conditions imposed by the market economy. The department function under this name since 1993/1994 school year and was formed from the separation of Management and Soil Engineering Department of Drilling Faculty. The Management – Marketing Department,   permanently integrated itself in the research activity realising numerous research contracts, in collaboration with various specialised institutes from the entire country.
The Management – Marketing Department has, as objective, the continuous improvement of the educational process, through a permanent documentation, editing courses and laboratory guidelines, and changing experience with similar department from other universities.  Between 1992 and 1995 the Management – Marketing Department ensured a post university education in Management and Marketing fields do to its collaboration with prestigious European universities like Cambridge, Paisley, Strathclyde, from United Kingdoms, Clermont – Ferrand, from France and The Technique University for Athena, Greece, within the Tempus JEP 4189 program. Since 1999/2000 school year the Management – Marketing Department initiated a one year post university class with Petroleum Management specialisation, later, this class, being transformed in a Master course with duration of one year and half.  Nowadays the departments’ didactic personnel are teaching Master courses to faculties like: Economic Sciences, Mechanic and Electric Engineering, Letters and Sciences, Petroleum and Gas Engineereng.
Presently, the Management – Marketing Department is involved in an European level project within the FP6 EC Program, called SUCCESS (Smaller Urban Communities in CIVITAS for Environmentally Sustainable Solutions) along with administrative institutions and universities from Preston (UK), La Rochelle (France) and Ploiesti (Romania). The University project manager is dr. Augustin Mitu and the project indicative is:  TREN/04/FP6EN/S07.39573/513785. Measures implementations responsible, from the University are: dr. economist Catalin Popescu, drd. Violeta Sima and Gabriela Gogot; the project is implemented during 4 years, between 2005 and 2009.

    The research group for Strategies in the petroleum and gas extractive industry,  Deposit Management,  Operational Management for petroleum machines industry,  Feasibility studies and  Structural organization- matrix organization  is led by professor Cornelia Coroian Stoicescu and has, as members, the fallowing didactic personnel: Mihaela Oprea, Catalin Popescu, Simona Popa and Mădălina Albu.  The research group for Operational Management for petroleum machines industry and Project Management in Petroleum is led by conf. dr. eng. ec. Catalin Popescu ad has, as members, the fallowing didactic personnel: Mihai Mateescu, Mihaela Oprea, Gabriela Gogot. For TQM (Total Quality Management), the group is led by dr. eng. Mihaela Oprea  and has, as members, the fallowing didactic personnel Catalin Popescu,  Mădălina Albu, Gabriela Gogoţ .  The research group for Human Resources Management and SWOT Analyses is led by Prof. dr. Corneliu Russu, and has, as members, the fallowing didactic personnel: Ileana Gheorghe and Madalina Albu.  The research group for Marketing Researches and Promotional Techniques is led by Prof. dr. Eugen Pecican and has, as members, the fallowing didactic personnel: Ileana Gheorghe, Augustin Mitu and Violeta Sima.   Researches in the Business Communication and Negotiations Techniques are led by Prof. dr. Georgescu Toma and lector drd. Gabriela Gogoţ.
